Purpose: A Working Demonstration of Sustainable Vegetable Production Methods in a Space-Limited, Suburban, "Hobby Farm" setting that connects the broader community to state agriculture, their food supply, and ecosystem health.
Short Term Goal: Sustainability of Vegetable Production for Family of Five using sustainable agriculture and small-space gardening methods.
Long-Term Goal: Profitability of "Hobby Farm" Vegetable Production in Suburban Setting using sustainable community innovations to connect methods in
Objectives:
1. To produce food indefinitely in the suburban setting, using as many organic methods as possible and without causing severe or irreversible damage to ecosystem health.
2. To use modern community innovations such as social networks, blogs and websites to disseminate innovations in sustainable agriculture to the broader community and have a compelling impact on sustainable agriculture.
3. To study agriculture and community development and their interdependence on one another.
4. To strengthen both agriculture and Southern communities by building explicit linkages between sustainable agriculture and the community.
